Philippians 3:7-9- I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ.
So, my job is to consider the things I think are valuable, or worthy, as worthless? But how?
Easy. Compare those things to Jesus.
Now, are they really all that valuable to you? Is your car, your popularity status, your name brand jeans, your phone, your friends or your sports career really more important to you than knowing Jesus?
If so, destruction is in your future. Philippians 3:18 warns us of what happens when we let our things become of more value to us than Jesus. It says people who do this are headed for destruction. Their god is their appetite, they brag about shameful things, and they think only about this life here on earth.
So where are you? What is most valuable to you? Is it the things of life here on earth or knowing Jesus?

I completly agree, their are so many people that take the stuff of this world over Jesus, yet they call themselves Christans… I just don’t understand it.
